Birds Bets: Eagles now have the second-highest Super Bowl odds in the NFL; remain heavy favorites to win NFC East

The Philadelphia Eagles sit atop the NFL with a 6-0 record heading into their Week 7 bye.
It’s the third time in team history the Eagles have started a campaign with six straight wins. They started the 2004 season 7-0 before falling to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Philly ended that season in the Super Bowl, but could not upend the New England Patriots’ early dynasty. In 1981, Philly also got off to a hot start with a 6-0 record, but failed to win a playoff game come January.

Eagles Super Bowl odds heading into Week 7
Entering Week 6, the Eagles were tied with the Kansas City Chiefs for the second-highest Super Bowl odds in the NFL. Now, the Eagles have sole possession of second place in Super Bowl odds at +550.
After KC fell to Buffalo this past Sunday, they dropped to third in the oddsmakers’ eyes with +800 odds. The Bills still sit atop the league in Super Bowl odds, as they have for the entire 2022 campaign thus far.
While Buffalo has been Super Bowl favorites since the odds were initially released, the Eagles have climbed all the way from +4000 in the preseason. Unless Buffalo completely falls off, it’s hard to envision Philly leapfrogging them in the odds. Regardless, the fact they’ve reached as high as second place is a tremendous feat in itself.
Super Bowl odds, per DraftKings Sportsbook:
TEAM | ODDS |
Bills | +275 |
Eagles | +550 |
Chiefs | +800 |
Buccaneers | +900 |
Chargers | +1800 |
Vikings | +1800 |
Packers | +2000 |
Ravens | +2000 |
Cowboys | +2200 |
49ers | +2500 |
As it stands, the Eagles have the highest Super Bowl odds of any team in the NFC.
Tom Brady and his Buccaneers have the second-best odds in the conference. At 3-3, it’s pretty obvious that the only reason Tampa Bay still holds second place in the NFC is because of Tom Brady. Though the Hall of Fame quarterback isn’t putting up flashy numbers, he’s still been very efficient with the football, completing over 67 percent of his passes with a passer rating of 95.1.
Minnesota is right behind Tampa Bay at +1800. The Eagles already manhandled the Vikings in Week 2, so no real concern there. Green Bay sits right behind Minnesota at +2000. The Eagles will face Aaron Rodgers and his Packers in Week 12 under the Sunday night lights.

Eagles NFC East odds entering Week 7
As expected, the Eagles are still heavy favorites to take the NFC East crown after six weeks. After defeating Dallas on Sunday night, the Eagles hold a 2-0 record against divisional opponents. They have yet to face the 5-1 Giants. Philly will travel to New York in Week 14.
Despite sitting in third place in the NFC East standings, Dallas still holds the second-best odds to win the division. Their win over New York in Week 3 is more than likely the determining factor.
NFC East odds, per DraftKings Sportsbook:
TEAM | ODDS |
Eagles | -400 |
Cowboys | +550 |
Giants | +800 |
Commanders | +10000 |
While it’s theoretically possible for both Dallas and New York to catch Philadelphia in the division odds, the same can’t be said for Washington. Now that QB Carson Wentz is expected to miss several weeks with a finger injury on his throwing hand, Washington’s season is all but over.
