RIP to the San Diego Chicken mural

Well, that was fast. Less than 48 hours after a group of artists painted the San Diego Chicken mural stomping on the iconic Phillie Phanatic in downtown San Diego, the mural has been completely removed.
I don’t recall any city in the world that waived a white flag as quickly as San Diego did with the mural. How embarrassing.
RIP to the San Diego Chicken Mural
I was honestly stunned when I saw the video. I couldn’t believe that the city folded this quickly. Then again, it’s been a bizarre last couple of days because there really aren’t that many San Diego Padres fans on social media. We’re all just making fun of that city with little-to-no pushback.
Very odd.
In case you missed the original article, here’s what the mural was as of yesterday.Â
Bad look for San Diego. If they had any spine, they would have doubled down on the mural they would have added to it but instead, like Californians tend to do, they bent the knee.
To make things worse for Padres fans, the Phillies are sending Aaron Nola to the mound today against Blake Snell, who got absolutely SHELLED during the regular season by the Phillies. Â
On the year, Snell went 8-10 with a 3.38 ERA. Against the Phillies this season, Snell got lit up twice, going 0-2 with a 6.75 ERA and nine strikeouts.

On May 18th, Rhys Hoskins hit a home run off Snell. On June 25th, JT Realmuto hit a home run off Snell. This postseason, Snell is 1-0 with a 3.12 ERA while striking out 11. Heat Check:Â Bryce Harper has homered in three straight games.
