MLB Central compares stars from Philly and Houston in terrible segment ahead of Game 1

MLB Central put on one of the worst segments I’ve ever seen in its lead-up to Game 1 of the World Series. The broadcaster ran ‘tale of the tape’ in which they compared Philly and Houston, which is benign in and of itself. However, how they went about it made me cringe so damn hard.
What was MLB Central thinking here?
There are so many things wrong here I don’t know where to start.
Opening with the Philly cheesesteak I understand, and I won’t even comment on the places they mentioned because that conversation is played out. But choosing PIZZA as Houston’s main food item?
That feels absurd to me, especially when its not even a regional cuisine anybody would associate with the city (at least nationally). I feel like there are numerous other foods Houstonians would be proud of with a little more local flavor, am I wrong?
Of course MLB Centrak brought Rocky into the equation, but he’s literally a fictional character and does not belong in the same conversation as “Tha Grill God” George Foreman. Joe Frazier is a Philadelphia icon and was the first man to defeat Muhammad Ali in the ring.
But, sure, go with Rocky. Ha ha ha…
It genuinely seems like MLB Central’s producers put less than ten seconds of thought into this six minute segment. If these people had any idea how dumb they look here, they might feel some shame. But sadly they’re left in the dark, just like the kid who gets bullied by people he thinks are being his friend.
I will say, Bradley Cooper vs Patrick Swayze is a hell of a matchup. Of course, I have to go with B Coop, but I think much of America would agree with me on that one.
At least MLB Central acknowledged that we’ve got a shit ton of great actors from Philly. That kept me from going scorched earth on these clowns.
I could really go on and on about this dogshit clip, but we’ve got a World Series to win. Said? Said.
