Phillies break 24-hour merchandise record on Fanatics for pennant winner

The Philadelphia Phillies continue to make history this Postseason. Winning the NLCS as six-seed wasn’t enough for the franchise, as it set the record for most merchandise sold for a pennant-winner 24 hours after the final out.
Front Office Sports reported the Phillies passed the 2016 Cubs in LCS merchandise sales:
Personally, I’m not surprised. When the best fans in American sports are given a reason to spend their money on gear, we’re going to borderline bankrupt ourselves, and a National League pennant is more than a good excuse.
Even less surprising is that the NLCS Champions shirts were the top-selling item. Funnily enough, the NLCS shirts this year aren’t even that cool. Of course, that matters not when it’s our first NL pennant since 2009.
It’s not every day I spent $40 dollars on a white t-shirt, but that’s a small price to pay for a piece of history. And apparently, that sentiment is shared by the hundreds of thousands of fans that shelled out for it.
Philly fans are the best, and this is just yet another addition to the long list of reasons we can point to to prove that point. And those are just numbers from Fanatics, imagine all the bootleg tees being sold on street corners across the city.
Fanatics isn’t the only purveyor of fine Phillies gear, however. Sure, it may have all the licensed merch the players got, but there are plenty of quality designs available in The Liberty Line shop to show off that Red October spirit.
