Nick Castellanos will hit a home run in Game 1 due to Brady’s divorce, Jerry Lee Lewis’ death

When tragedy strikes, Nick Castellanos homers. This has been a long-running joke since he hit one deep to left during Thom Brennaman’s on-air apology. While it hasn’t rung as true this season, it seems the stars have (morbidly) aligned in Nicky’s favor.
First, Tom Brady announced he and Gisele Bündchen are finalizing their divorce:
While that got the fans’ attention, news of Jerry Lee Lewis’ passing kicked us into high-gear:
If there was ever a time for Castellanos to hit a home run this Postseason, it’d be in Game 1 of the Fall Classic. While he’s come up with a number of timely hits and defensive snags, he has yet to go completely nuclear.
Sure, he’s played his role for perfection, but even he’d admit he’d like to take one deep in the World Series. And, based on recent events, he seems perfectly set up to hit one out.
Is it objectively awful to see the death of a beloved musician and immediately think about how that affects your baseball team? Maybe. But that’s what happens when you root for a player whose success seems to rely on souls entering the ethereal plane.
Regardless, here’s hoping Casty can get one on the board, maybe even off of Justin Verlander. I expect greatness tonight after all these tragedies.
Vegas has Castellanos at +520 to go yard:

Hammer it.
