AJ Brown responds to hate messages after trolling former team on Twitter

It’s been a rough go for Titans’ receivers since the departure of AJ Brown.

The Titans traded Brown to the Eagles during April’s draft in exchange for two 2022 draft picks amid his contract dispute. The Eagles later signed Brown to a 4-year, $100M extension — and he’s been worth every penny.

In comparison, Brown has more receiving yards than Tennesee’s entire WR corps through nine weeks of the season:

AJ BrownTitans WRs
Receptions4351
Receiving Yards718658
Yards/catch16.712.9
TDs61

The Titans signed Robert Woods in free agency and used the pick acquired from Philadelphia on Arkansas WR Treylon Burks, but no pass-catcher has been able to fill the void left by Brown.

Tennesee’s inability to create separation was on full display in Sunday night’s OT loss to Kansas City and Brown, who appeared to be watching the game, chimed in on their struggles as well:

Brown’s bad blood with his former team is well documented after Tenessee refused to pay up, and the offense is now worse off without him. I’m sure the Titans would likely reconsider letting Brown go if they could go back in time.

Titans fans criticized the pettiness soon after, resulting in Brown deleting the tweets and getting hate messages on Instagram.

I can understand fans being upset about losing a talent like Brown, but directing that anger toward him is never the answer.

Regardless of how people may feel about him, Brown currently sits sixth in the NFL in receiving yards while propelling the Eagles to their first 8-0 start in franchise history.
