Congratulations to Tony DeLuca, who won an election in Allegheny County, PA after passing away October 9th

Congratulations folks, have made it through the 2022 Midterm Elections. Hopefully now, we can get back to keeping politics on the back burner, while also enjoying a new batch of shitty TV and radio commercials from something else besides sleazy politicians.
That being said, we do have some pretty funny news coming from yesterday’s voting results. A Pennsylvania state lawmaker was re-elected on Tuesday despite passing away last month.
Tony DeLuca Election
Tony DeLuca, a Democrat, died of lymphoma on Oct. 9, too late for election officials to change the ballots. DeLuca was 85.
DeLuca, who served in the state legislature for 39 years, defeated the Green Party’s Queonia “Zarah” Livingston, garnering more than 85% of the vote in his deep-blue Allegheny County district.
“While we’re incredibly saddened by the loss of Representative Tony DeLuca, we are proud to see the voters continue to show their confidence in him and his commitment to Democratic values by re-electing him posthumously,” Pennsylvania House Democrats said in a tweet. “A special election will follow soon,”

Awesome. If you’re anything like me, anytime it’s election season, it’s just a great reminder of how dumb everyone in this country is. Of course, people could have voted for DeLuca because they didn’t want to the Green Party Candidate to win. That seems fair.
On the other hand, what’s going on in Allegheny County where you have an 85 year-old dead person on the ballot who has been in the state legislature for 39 years running against the Green Party’s Queonia “Zarah” Livingston?
That’s all we have to work with out in Western Pennsylvania?
Also: Too late to update ballots? On October 9th? Who’s running this dog and pony show? It’s literally a piece of paper that voters have to scribble black circles on to cast their votes. I would have had new ballots ready to go before DeLuca’s funeral was over.
I guess that aligns pretty well with everyone else we threw on the ballots statewide. All of these candidates are horrible. To be clear, this is both sides of the political spectrum so please, go cry to someone else. I have never seen such a horrible ballot in my 16 years of voting. Dr. Oz? John Fetterman? Is that what Pennsylvania has to work with to lead the Keystone State?
Give me a break.
Get me out of election season so we can focus on the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles while keeping an eye on the Flyers and 76ers as they get deeper into their respective seasons without hearing about some mentally ill child getting raped in a hospital.
No more bad political ads. No more political parties crying. We are done with all that and please, if there’s ever an opportunity to run for office against a dead guy and the Green Party, someone give me a heads up because I would have won that election easily.
