Joel Embiid named Eastern Conference Player of the Week

Joel Embiid has been named Eastern Conference Player of the Week after a dominating last four games. Fellow Under Armour athlete Stephen Curry has been named the POTW for the Western Conference.
The Sixers got off to a very slow start at the beginning of the season, and Joel Embiid looked out of it from the beginning. It takes Joel time to get back into things every season, especially because Embiid was more focused on the Phillies than playing basketball.
The best center in basketball went on a tear the last week, averaging 40 points, 11 rebounds, 5.3 assists, and 2.8 blocks over his last four games. Three of those games have been won by the Sixers (Phoenix, Atlanta, Utah), with their only loss being down in Atlanta vs. the Hawks.
Embiid’s last two games specifically have been historic, dropping a total of 101 points, 21 rebounds, 14 assists, and nine blocks in that time. Sunday night’s game against Utah was the best game I’ve ever seen Embiid play, dropping a career-high 59 points with 11 rebounds, eight assists, and seven blocks to go along.
