Flyers call up D Egor Zamula and place F Travis Konency on IR; Cam Atkinson returns to practice

The Flyers announced today that F Travis Konency has been put on IR, and D Egor Zamula has been called up from the Phantoms.
Like Jason Myrtetus put so perfectly, placing Konency on IR is retro to when the injury occurred so it doesn’t change his timeline on when he can be back by.
Tony DeAngelo was not at practice today, still dealing with bumps and bruises from the past few games.
Tortorella said today he expects DeAngelo to be ready to Tuesday against NYI.
Putting Konency on IR opens up a roster spot for Zamula incase they need an extra body for these upcoming games.
Cam Atkinson
Cam Atkinson has yet to play a game for John Tortorella as a Flyer, dealing with what he refers to as a “body injury”.
Today, Atkinson was back on the ice for practice (the whole thing) along with another injured Flyer, Scott Laughton.
You can tell Atkinson has been cleared for contact and feels ready to go. He and Rasmus Ristolainen were WWE wrestling each other during practice today.
Cam says he expect to be back “sooner rather than later”, so I’d guess maybe before Christmas?
These lines…
I understand 50% of the team is in the ER but my god, today’s forward lines were some of the worst lines I have ever seen:
Tippett – Frost – Bellows
Farabee – Sedlak – Hayes
Deslauriers – N. Cates – MacEwen
Willman – Laczynski – Brown
Added onto all that, Tony was out today so we had 1st pair Rasmus Ristolainen.
Scary.
The Flyers have the New York Islanders at home tomorrow. They’ll hopefully look to start a 5-game home stand by breaking this 10-game losing streak.
