Picture-perfect: Flyers fall 4-1 in a competitive game vs Washington

The Flyers finished out the home-stand with a 4-1 loss over the Washington Capitals. Kevin Hayes continued his rather impressive stretch of producing and the powerplay is starting to look much improved.
Most Flyers fans are rooting for a better draft pick, so it was quite concerning to see a decent start out of the team. They had the shots advantage after the first period and cashed in a Hayes powerplay goal to make it 1-0.

After the goal this game turned into one of the most boring hockey games you’ll probably see on a NHL slate this season. Just a complete snooze fest between two mediocre clubs.
One thing I’ve realized in the matchups against Washington is how brutal they are as well. I know we lost both games against them, but my god do they make the Flyers look great at times. They got one by Hart after 4 powerplay tries and got a cheeky redirect to help our tank.

It’s a picture perfect loss in my opinion. The team battled especially in the third period while Hart didn’t get shelled. The powerplay is improving a bit and the hope for a franchise changing pick continues. No complaints from me, I know what to expect from this era of Flyers hockey.
Moving on
Up next is the Vegas Golden Knights on the road. This game should be a slaughter… and I hope that’s the case. The World Juniors is right around the corner and I’m ready to get my hopes up.
