Phillies announce dates for ring ceremony, promotional events, and a concert from Diesel aka Shaquille O’Neal
The Philadelphia Phillies are on absolute fire right now.
First, they blessed the city of Philadelphia with an improbable World Series run before the magic wore off and they fell to the Houston Astros in six games. Yes, it was tough at the time, but Dave Dombrowski and the Phillies immediately got to work and signed Trea Turner, Taijuan Walker, and Matt Stahm to help bolster the lineup, rotation, and bullpen restoring order to the realm of Phillies baseball throughout the Tri-State Area.
Baseball is now BACK in the city of Philadelphia and Citizens Bank Park is going to be bumping when the 2023 begins next Spring. Now, we got news today that the Phillies have scheduled their ring ceremony and are bringing back their postgame concert series with an EPIC performer coming to The Bank on July 1st, just a few days before America’s birthday.
Phillies Ring Ceremony: Sunday, April 9th vs. the Cincinnati Reds
The 3-game set vs. the Cincinnati Reds will be the team’s first home series of the season after starting with five games on the road vs. the Texas Rangers and New York Yankees. The home-opening series takes place on Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Sunday’s ring ceremony is set to take place pregame of an afternoon game.
Although the home-opener lineup won’t feature Bryce Harper due to recovery timeline from Tommy John surgery, on April 6th, Citizens Bank Park will feature the newest Phillie Trea Turner, along with a potential start from Zack Wheeler.
Thursday’s game will be the 7th game of the season (assuming Aaron Nola starts Opening Day). The ring ceremony will feature one of Ranger Suarez or Taijuan Walker (whoever is in the fourth slot in the starting rotation).

On July 1st, Shaq will show off his DJ skills following a game vs. the Nationals. The first dollar dog night of the year will take place on April 11th vs. the Miami Marlins at 6:40 EST.
