News: Crossing Broad reports Cam Atkinson will not play this season

The Philadelphia Flyers continue to just ruin the lives of the Orange and Black faithful.
This morning, Flyers fans received another smack in the face in the form of Cam Atkinson. According to Anthony SanFilippo of Crossing Broad, the 33-year old forward will not play for the rest of the season.
Cam Atkinson Won’t Play This Season
“Crossing Broad has agreed not to publish specifics prior to Atkinson or the Flyers announcing the details of this “upper body injury,” but it’s serious enough that it could be career-threatening to the 33-year-old veteran.”
That quote from Anthony’s article hit my soul harder than Chuck Fletcher hits the wax pen before making a trade. Atkinson had 50 points in 73 games for the Flyers last year. He entered this training camp taking part in practice lightly, but his injury designation has been up and down like a toilet seat all year.
Huge respect to Anthony for not diving deeper into the injury even though he probably could have. He’s going to leave it up to Cam and the Flyers to do that.
Just more pain, Flyers fans.
