Flyers media members need to stop asking John Tortorella dumb questions after games

Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Columbus Blue Jackets 5-3 last night.
While it was certainly a good win for the team, I would prefer if they stopped winning games period so we can get one of those elite draft prospects that the boys over at The Liberty Yell are constantly talking about.
Typically I leave Flyers content alone but I keep seeing this postgame interviews with head coach John Tortorella arguing with the media so I figured I would chime in today. I tend to side with coach and/or players side in battles with the media, who can be extremely annoying at times and this video is no different.
Backstory: Tortorella benched Kevin Hayes a few games back and then ultimately followed up the benching with a scratch.
John Tortorella talked about that with the media during last night’s postgame.
“Yeah, I’m not giving you an update on Hayesy’s game. I’m not going to have the Kevin Hayes update. You guys are trying to pit him against me and me against him, which is so ludicrous. So I’m not giving you any update on Kevin Hayes.”
Was it completely ludicrous to ask? Not really. Torts did healthy-scratch his point leader and should probably give an explanation. I can definitely see that type of reasoning. However, just running down the list of players and asking how he thought about their shifts seems pretty stupid.
Like the TLY boys said above, if you want a shift by shift breakdown of the game or why Hayes was scratched, I think it’s fair to say that Tortorella has shown time and time again he’s not really going to get into that type of questioning on the podium.
There’s a lot of chatter on Twitter about the situation and it looks like most people are falling on the side of “the media needs to stop thinking they are more important than they actually are” side of things and I don’t blame them at all.
The Flyers are supposed to be bad. Torts has said time and time again this entire thing is going to take time and the team is going to suck this season while also acting like this constantly on the podium. Point being, I’m not really sure why anyone is up in arms about his response in the video above.
Anyways, let’s all hope and pray the Flyers keep losing and shift focus over to the Eagles against the Cowboys and the Philadelphia 76ers, who are winners of five straight and host the Detroit Pistons tonight in South Philly.
