Joel Embiid passes Wilt Chamberlain on Sixers’ most 40-point games in franchise history

The final two minutes of the Sixers’ loss to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday night was ugly, but Joel Embiid again, put on an absolute clinic.
Embiid dropped 48 points on 17-of-32 shooting from the floor with nine rebounds, three steals, and three blocks.

Embiid’s 40-plus performance marked the 32nd time in his career he scored over 40 points, passing the legendary Wilt Chamberlain for second-most in Philadelphia 76ers franchise history. Allen Iverson appropriately has 76 games where he scored over 40 points with the Sixers.

Embiid is still leading the NBA in scoring at 33.7 points per game. Luka Doncic is right on his heels averaging 33.6 points per game after dropping a 60-point triple double on Tuesday against the New York Knicks.
