As a corresponding move, Vinny Nittoli has been DFA’d to make room on the 40-man roster.
Uelmen, 26, has spent his entire career with the Chicago Cubs, making his major league debut with Chicago in 2022. Uelmen made 25 appearances, finishing eight of those 25 games, racking up a 4.67 ERA while striking out 21 batters in 27 innings.

Erich Uelmen has logged 50 games in Triple-A throughout his career after being drafted by Chicago in the 4th round of the 2017 Amateur Draft. Uelmen tallied a 5.17 ERA at the highest minor-league level.
This move doesn’t break the bank, and it isn’t at the top of the headlines, but any trade for cash is a good trade.
