NBA All-Star Fan Voting: absurd Embiid disrespect continues in 2023

The first round of the 2022-23 NBA All-Star fan voting was released today, with LeBron James and Kevin Durant leading the way with the most votes in the Western Conference and Eastern Conference, respectively.
NBA All-Star Fan Voting: Joel Embiid No. 3 in the Eastern Conference Frontcourt
Embiid trails only LeBron James, KD, and Giannis by large margins. Granted, he trails Jokic too, but by far fewer votes.
He may have missed some time early in the year, but Joel Embiid fully deserves to be an All-Star starter. His dominant December saw him win Eastern Conference Player of the Month, the fifth time he’s earned the award.
He lead all NBA players in scoring at 35.4 points per contest on .545 shooting from the floor and .417 from three-point range. As he led the league in scoring last season, this is far from surprising for us Sixers fans.
Embiid led the 76ers to a 9-4 record (.692) in December. This included a season-long win streak of eight games from Dec. 9-25. Philadelphia’s .692 winning percentage ranked third in the NBA throughout the month.
James Harden is also in the third spot among Eastern Conference guards. Based on the numbers (not including Curry and Luka), it’s clear the stars of the league are forwards and, historically dominant centers.
That being said, fan voting is a total waste of time. I do think media votes are a waste of time, too, but they’re not nearly as egregious as these fan votes.
Austin Reaves is the top-10 of guards in the West. At the same time, De’Aaron Fox and Anthony Edwards are NOWHERE to be found.
This guy? Seriously?
