Louisiana Porn Law: The surveillance state of Louisiana now has a new law for adult websites, where residents will have to provide a legal form of identification to view content

We have some really bad news for our friends in the great state of Louisiana. According to reports, there is a new Louisiana Porn Law that will require adult sites to verify the ages of users before they can access content.
Full Disclosure: I’m not a porn guy. Never touch the stuff. Keeps me pure and my mind focus. In fact, I’m only a few days from being able to levitate. More importantly, I do not live in the surveillance state of Louisiana because let me tell you, they are really taking the “Bible Belt” title to a whole new level with this new legislation.
The new law will require adult websites to verify the age of any user looking to access them. Just when you thought that it would be like an alcohol website where you have to just click a few buttons to “consent to being over 21”, it appears that the law will actually make you require official identification to access the content on the website.
Louisiana Porn Law details:
According to the BBC (no not your porn history you freaks), here’s how the new process will work.
Under the Louisiana legislation, most users are expected to use a smartphone app, called LA Wallet, to show they are over 18.
The app requires a driving license or an official state identity card to establish a person’s age.
Users of one of the largest pornographic websites, Pornhub, are now directed to an age verification process, according to a video posted on Twitter.
PornHub ID Verification
“Louisiana law now requires us to put in place a process for verifying the age of users who connect to our site from Louisiana,”
Porn heads across the bayou were likely shocked to be greeted by the message demanding they provide their papers. It’s hard to imagine how many people would willingly link their driver’s licenses to watch porn, but who knows what goes on behind closed doors. Regardless, it seems like a horrible idea and is likely just a ploy from government officials as a new kink for them to get off by knowing what porn you’re watching from home.
Of course asking sites to take an additional step to verify who’s actually accessing the sexual content really isn’t THAT out of line. Kids have no business watching porn and in all seriousness, porn is a very unhealthy bad habit and all things considered, addicting.
Still, having the state make you verify your identity with a legal form of ID to access a website is a slippery path to go down and handing over any personal information on the internet is always a bad idea, even more so when they are going through government controlled apps.
On the other hand, literally everyone is stealing your information anyways so does it really matter?
Are you actually sacrificing any type of information that the government doesn’t already have? I highly doubt it.
Google has been caught stealing data and has been anything BUT honest about tracking users locations. Facebook was selling your data to literally everyone. Twitter was being bought by every government agency possible and monitored for years before Elon Musk took over. Oh and the United States just banned TikTok on any government issued device because it’s basically a Chinese Spy Machine.
So sure, if you want to remain oblivious to the fact that every major tech company has probably taken your data and sold it a million times over at this point, then this law stinks out loud but just remember, they already are watching you, so if you feel the urge, give them one more piece of info and go punish yourself in your cold dark bedroom.
It’s a free country after all, right?
…..Right?!
