Allen Iverson wants to open a new restaurant in Philadelphia

Allen Iverson has officially entered the “mogul” stage of his life. The former Sixers phenom and current entrepreneur has already entered the cannabis space, and now he has set his sights on the restaurant business.
Allen Iverson told GQ’s Mike Awake he wants to take his Virginia restaurant to Philly:
What else are you looking forward to?
My restaurant that we’re getting ready to open in Virginia. I’m starting in Virginia. Then we gonna take it to Philadelphia because it’ll be big, obviously, in Philadelphia. Then DC and Charlotte. I’m crawling before I walk.
What kind of food is it going to be?
We gotta go seafood. But we gonna do the soul food too. We put it all together.
Oh. Hell. Yes.
As a massive AI fan with a severe weakness for southern food, this is the best thing I’ve heard so far in 2023. Obviously it won’t be opening any time soon, but it’s a story I’ll continue to follow closely.
Plus, having an AI-owned business actually available in the area will be great for Sixers fans. Sadly, his cannabis brand has yet to make its way to the Pennsylvania market.
But I digress. If you’re going to trust anyone to run a good restaurant in Philly, it should be Allen Iverson. The man knows fine dining.
