Doc Rivers, Sixers players praise Jaden Springer’s performance against the Detroit Pistons

The Philadelphia 76ers were able to cruise to a 146-116 victory last night against the Detroit Pistons at The Well.
Honestly, last night’s game wasn’t even close. At one point the Sixers led by 41 points, while Joel Embiid dropped an easy 36 points and 11 rebounds in just 23 minutes of action.
James Harden added his second-straight triple-double with 16 points, 15 assists, and 12 rebounds. Harden and Embiid provided their usual dominant performances, which also allowed Doc Rivers to utilize his bench for the majority of the second half.
Jaden Springer, who bounces back and forth between Delaware and Philadelphia, saw nine minutes of action last night and made the most of it, scoring 10 points on a perfect 4-of-4 shooting from the floor.
Jaden Springer had himself a night.

After the game, Springer thanked Embiid and Harden for getting him some playing time
As we all know, Doc Rivers refuses to play young talent, so we have to leave it up to garbage time minutes to see the young guys shine.
Tobias Harris spoke on Springer’s performance after the game.

“He was great. Jaden, I’m telling you he is, we talk about De’Anthony (Melton), and this is probably a hell of a statement, but I think he’s gonna be an elite defender. I really do. I think he’s naturally physical. He has a chance to be a good player on the defensive end and then the offensive part about his cutting, his rebounding, he does things that he has a chance to be a good player.”

“I was telling Doc to put him in earlier. He puts the work in goes. He goes back and forth between here and the G League. He works extremely hard and so way to show off and tonight he did a really good job on both ends of the ball. Young guys, the more they can get more reps like that in game situations, the more comfortable they’ll be so he looked really good tonight.”

“Obviously, we got a lot of good players on the team and that’s on the staff to make those decisions, but I mean, if you put him out there for Detroit, I think he would have gotten a lot of minutes. I think he’s talented. Defensively, I think, he has a lot of potential on that end, and then offensively just being a slasher and just using his quickness. I think he can get a lot of minutes, but when you’re on a winning team, and there’s a lot of guys that can play, it’s gonna happen but I think he’s pretty talented, and he’s just gotta get a chance.”
Look, I understand Springer is just 20 years old but after Ben Simmons refusing to play opened the door for Tyrese Maxey, I would LOVE if Doc Rivers put Springer in the rotation. He was electric last night and deserves to see the floor more often but if history tells us anything, I doubt Doc Rivers, even with his praise postgame last night, will jump on the opportunity.
