Tyrese Maxey signs deal with New Balance

Tyrese Maxey finally got his shoe deal. The third-year guard inked an endorsement contract with New Balance, joining names like Kawhi Leonard, Zach LaVine, Dejounte Murray, and Jamal Murray among the ranks of athletes sponsored by the brand.
New Balance sent a tweet welcoming Tyrese Maxey aboard:
Now that’s what I’m talking about.
Maxey has been balling out his entire career in Philly, and it’s clear he was a steal at 21st overall in the draft. If there was a March Madness in 2020, there’s a chance he’d have a shoe deal before he was even drafted.
He’s also the perfect New Balance athlete. He’s a good kid that loves basketball, his family, and having a good time. He’s a player dads all over the Delaware Valley loves for his work ethic, and now they can finally justify buying a pair of NBA signature shoes.
Here’s hoping that, if he does get his own shoe, it looks better than whatever Under Armour has given Joel Embiid. I need at least one decent-looking shoe on our roster, and Tyrese Maxey could be the key to our redemption.
There’s only one thing that bothers me about New Balance: Jack Harlow. If that guy cooks Tyrese in a game of 1-on-1 for a national ad to sell sneakers, I might lose my mind.
Regardless, it’s great to see the kid get the recognition – and cash – he deserves.
Get that bag, kid.
