Earlier this week, the inaugural Players’ All-Pro First Team ballot was released as well. Both Johnson and Kelce were also voted on for that list, along with CB Darius Slay, who’s absent from the AP’s All-Pro selections.
Slay’s running mate, James Bradberry, was selected however. He finished the season with three interceptions, which included a pick-six during the opening week of the season.
Bradberry was one of the best coverage corners in football this season, posting a Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 80.2, good for 10th-best among 122 qualifying corners. He surrendered 40 receptions on 87 passes thrown in his direction (46 completion percentage) while allowing a 54.2 passer rating.
Bradberry’s overall numbers are slightly better than Slay’s, so seeing AP go with him over Big Play is understandable.
As for the remaining Eagles to make second team, it was well deserved. Of course, my biased brain would’ve liked to see Hurts, Brown, and Reddick all make first team. Nevertheless, if you would’ve told me at the beginning of the season that these three guys would make second team All-Pro in 2022, I would’ve been more than content.
Hurts will likely finish second in the MVP voting this year, right behind the first team All-Pro QB, Patrick Mahomes. The Eagles signal caller finished the year with 35 total touchdowns to just six interceptions while completing 66.5 percent of his throws with a passer rating of 101.5.
Brown posted the best numbers of his career in 2022, en route to breaking the Eagles franchise record for receiving yards in a season. He racked up 1,496 yards on 88 receptions while finding the end zone 11 times.
As for Reddick, he also posted career-highs this year, recording a team-high 16 sacks.
