Steal of the Century: Ranger Suarez avoids arbitration, settles with the Phillies on a $2.95 million salary for the 2023 season

Shortly after the news of the Philadelphia Phillies avoiding arbitration with Rhys Hoskins, it was announced that they have also avoided arbitration with Ranger Suarez, settling on a $2.95 million contract for the 2023 season.

Ranger Suarez went 10-7 with a 3.65 ERA over 29 starts during the 2022 regular season. In the postseason, Suarez was phenomenal, going 2-0 in three starts with a 1.23 ERA. He appeared in five total playoff games (14.2) innings pitched while striking out 13 with a 1.02 WHIP.
