Smart: Former Arizona Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury fled the country, bought one-way ticket to Thailand with his girlfriend Veronica Bielik after getting fired
The Arizona Cardinals were an absolute dumpster fire this season, finishing with a 4-13 record and in last place in the NFC West standings.
Following the end of the regular season, Cardinals head coach Kliff Kingsbury was fired and instead of sticking around the states in hopes of landing another coaching job in the NFL, he opted to buy a one-way ticket to Thailand while telling all NFL teams that were showing interest in hiring him that he was in fact, not interested in returning to coach.
Kliff Kingsbury Bought a One-Way Ticket to Thailand
At the time, there was no reason to blame Kingsbury for going off the grid after coaching a miserable Arizona Cardinals team all season and having to deal with Kyler Murray’s video game addiction.
Being a head coach in the NFL must burn you out already, and given the fact that Kingsbury was fired just 10 months after Arizona signed him to a contract extension through the 2027 season, there was really no better option than to flee the country with the money he made on his initial contract in Arizona. Kingsbury signed a four year, $22 million contract in 2019, so with a flush bank account, he packed his bags and got the hell out of dodge.
Kingsbury’s decision to flee the country was proven to be the right choice yet again after pictures surfaced that his girlfriend, Veronica Bielik, accompanied the former Cardinals head coach on his trip overseas. According to reports, Bielik’s Instagram blew up with comments asking how Kliff was doing and if he ever had plans of returning.
“How’s Kliff doing?!” one user wrote while another posted, “Can you ask kliff if he plans on coming back?”

Yeah. Honestly, if I was Kliff Kingsbury, there’s no way I return to the NFL or hell, even the United States. There’s literally no point when you have your lady and the entire world to see.
