Matt Vierling and Nick Maton post heartfelt goodbyes to the city of Philadelphia on Instagram

Former Phillies utilitymen Matt Vierling and Nick Maton posted heartfelt goodbyes to the city of Philadelphia on Instagram as they head out to Detroit for a new beginning.
Matt Vierling and Nick Maton Say Goodbye to Philadelphia
As the #1 supporter of Matt Vierling, it was hard to see him go, although it was the right move by Dave Dombrowski. Gregory Soto is one of the best left-handed relievers in baseball when his control stays focused, and he brings a lot of potential to a scary Phillies bullpen.
Matt Vierling was asked to do a lot for the Phillies in 2022, and although the stats don’t show it, I don’t know how far the Phillies would have gone without Vierling’s versatility off the bench throughout the entire season.

Vierling was that typical utility guy that every good team always has. The numbers aren’t always there, but the talent is enough. to keep him in the position. Vierling had a great month of June, hitting .313/.365/.542 with 3 HRs and 5 RBIs in 48 ABs.
As for Nick Maton, just remember this…he’s the only player in all of baseball to hit multiple HRs off Sandy Alcantara.
Cheers, boys.
