Joel Embiid responds to Hakeem and the rest of the old guys, questions their basketball IQ

The Philadelphia 76ers are now tied with the Milwaukee Bucks in second place in the Eastern Conference Standings after winning their fourth straight game on the road last night in Portland.
Joel Embiid has scored 30+ points in seven straight games and the Sixers are ROLLING right now.
Last night, Embiid talked to reporters about the comments that Hakeem made earlier in the week, when he criticized Embiid for taking too many shots outside of the paint.
Here’s what Joel Embiid told reporters
“It’s funny when you’ve got these old guys always talking about posting up, ‘you need to spend time in the paint,’ and all that stuff. You can’t win this way anymore. It’s not the fricking 90s or 80s like it used to be. So, they must not have any basketball IQ.”
It’s really hard to argue with the results.
Embiid, a 7-foot center dribbling the basketball and turning into more of a face-up player rather than a stereotypical post-up big man is literally changing the game of basketball and doing so at an elite level night in, and night out.
Should Embiid stay in the post more often? Probably. Are there times where he settles for a jumper instead of a quick post-move that could result in an easy dunk or layup? Almost certainly. However, the numbers do not lie.
At the end of the day, Joel Embiid can literally do whatever he wants on the basketball court as long as he stays healthy for the playoffs. Nothing else really matters outside of that.
