Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was initially listed as one of the five finalists for Coach of the Year, but the candidates were later trimmed to Daboll, Shanahan, and Pederson. The more egregious omission, however, is DE Brandon Graham not being in the Comeback Player of the Year conversation.

Following a torn Achilles suffered in Week 2 of last season, Graham returned to post a career-high 11.0 sacks at 34 years of age. While the resurgence of Geno Smith has been inspirational to watch, coming back from the bench because you were terrible at football shouldn’t qualify you for the award.

Although Saquon Barkley set a career-high in rushing yards this season, he only missed five games last year. Graham certainly deserves consideration over each of those players.

As expected, QB Jalen Hurts was listed as a finalist for the NFL MVP award and NFL Offensive Player of the Year. OC Shane Steichen is also a finalist for Assistant Coach of the Year.

While seasonal awards are nice, the Eagles have higher aspirations as they prepare for an NFC Title Game this Sunday against the 49ers.
