Trea Turner tops MLB Network’s fan vote for Top 10 shortstops in the MLB

Trea Turner is the best shortstop in all of baseball, and this fan vote from MLB Network is just another example of that.
Trea Turner: #1
Trea Turner hit .307/.353/.490 in two seasons with the Dodgers, crushing 31 HRs and 128 RBIs while also adding 38 stolen bases. Turner is a 2x All-Star, a World Champion, and has a batting title.

Turner’s all-around game is what makes him stand out from the rest. He’s posted an above-average OPS+ every season since his rookie year, his OPS has sat above .800 since 2018, and he strikes out at just a rate of 18% while collecting a 4.9 WAR in 2022, a career-high.
The Phillies’ new shortstop at the top of the list is a no-brainer. But after Turner, this list gets a little shaky…
Jeremy Pena being ahead of Carlos Correa, Xander Bogaerts, and Dansby Swanson is an absolute joke. Sure, Pena had a great postseason and, unfortunately, killed the Phillies in the World Series. But putting the young infielder above three proven superstars in this league is a pretty wild move from the fans.
Here’s the only correct list.
- Trea Turner
- Francisco Lindor
- Carlos Correa
- Xander Bogaerts
- Dansby Swanson
- Jeremy Pena
- Corey Seager
- Bo Bichette
- Bobby Witt Jr.
- Oneil Cruz
Trea Turner is awesome!!
