The Hurts Effect: Legendary Anita Baker to sing National Anthem at NFC Championship

This is big. Jalen Hurts’ star power is bringing another star to Philadelphia this weekend: Anita Baker. The legendary singer will be performing the National Anthem at the NFC Championship Game.
Don’t worry, he fixed the (very reasonable) typo.

Jalen Hurts is a massive fan of hers, proving once again he’s a man of immaculate taste:
I for one am incredibly excited for this. That woman is an unquestionable talent, and to have her perform live in Philly for any occasion is special.
This is like the exact opposite of American Idol winner Jordin Sparks singing the anthem in the 2008-09 NFC Championship Game. I won’t say anything further about that game, but my point is having the lovely Ms. Baker sing the anthem bodes well for the Eagles.
What’s great is, I don’t think it took much heavy lifting to get Anita in the mix for this. Jalen’s fandom has been openly discussed all season long, and it seems the feeling is at least somewhat mutual.
Anita Baker even shouted out Hurts after he mentioned her in his postgame interview when Eagles beat the Bears:
I don’t want to say this guarantees a victory for the Eagles on Sunday, but doesn’t it? The stars are aligning on and off the field.
Also, I can’t help but try and rewrite “Slow Jamz.” Please bear with me.
She said she want some Jalen Hurts, some DeVonta Smith
A little Anita will definitely set this party off right
