Eagles DT Fletcher Cox thinks the 2017 team would beat the current squad

Now that the Philadelphia Eagles are heading to their second Super Bowl in five years, the debate between which team is better – the 2017 Eagles, or the 2022 Eagles – is heating up.
Obviously, this is all hypothetical, but it’s an interesting thought experiment nonetheless.
On Friday, a team reporter posed the question to DT Fletcher Cox, one of the few players remaining from the 2017-’18 Super Bowl team. His response, the Nick Foles-led team would beat the current iteration.
2017 Eagles > 2022 Eagles, in Fletch’s humble opinion
On paper, I think it’s pretty easy to figure out which team is better. The ’22 squad is just loaded across the board, at literally every position. While the ’17 team was also loaded in some respects, they lacked true difference makers at two key positions – cornerback and wide receiver. The ’22 team has Pro Bowlers at both spots.
In an alternate universe, I’d love to see these two teams go against each other. Maybe someone can put something together on Madden and simulate the contest to see what the video game Gods think.
