Eagles Injury Updates: Avonte Maddox back in walking boot, Chiefs to be without key WR in Super Bowl

It’s no secret that both teams are banged up heading into Super Bowl LVII, and there’s a good chance the Chiefs will be without one of their key receivers.
On Thursday, head coach Andy Reid provided injury updates on several players, including WR Mecole Hardman:
“I think it will be tough for him — I doubt that he’ll make the Super Bowl,” said Reid. “He was not going to be denied the other day [in the AFC Championship], and it’s a tribute to the kid. He pushed himself like no other, and he’s a tough nut. He’s all smiles with you, but when it comes down to playing, he is a tough, tough kid.”
Hardman is currently the longest-tenured receiver on the Chiefs roster and is playing out the final year of his rookie contract. Injuries have limited Hardman to just eight games this season, however, and he caught just two passes for ten yards in the AFC Championship Game. WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster and Kadarius Toney have also been out of practice all week.
As for Philadelphia, nickel CB Avonte Maddox returned from a toe injury in last week’s NFC Championship Game, but the team appears to be managing him leading up to the Super Bowl.

Maddox has been listed as out on Philadelphia’s estimated practice reports this week and sat out of today’s session as well. The expectation is that Maddox will be ready for next weekend.
The Eagles have one more practice tomorrow before departing for Arizona on Sunday.
