Matisse Thybulle was traded yesterday to the Portland Trail Blazers as a part of a 3-team deal that sent Jalen McDaniels to Philadelphia. Jalen McDaniels is averaging 10.6 points, 4.8 rebounds, and two assists in 26.7 MPG for Charlotte this season. The fourth-year forward now heads to a Sixers team in desperate need of athleticism.
The Sixers had no real leverage at this year’s trade deadline, with the asking price around the league way higher than it’s ever been. Thybulle was a pretty popular target around the league, but ultimately, the Sixers settled on this deal for McDaniels.
Matisse Thybulle was drafted by the Boston Celtics with the 20th pick in the 2019 NBA Draft but was immediately traded over to the Sixers. Thybulle played four years in Philadelphia, most known for being a defensive menace all around the court. The 2x All-Defensive forward just never found his consistent footing on the offensive end of the court, making him nearly unplayable in big offensive spots.
The Sixers are back in action tonight as they take on the New York Knicks at 7:00 EST.
