The number of years or price hasn’t been released, but Matt Gelb of The Athletic said the deals should “take the voices of the Phillies through the 2020s.” Tom McCarthy is entering his 15th season on the TV waves, while Scott Franzke returns for his 16th season, beginning all the way back in 2007.
The main crew of McCarthy, John Kruk, Ruben Amaro Jr, and Ben Davis is expected to all return to NBC Sports Philadelphia this season, but the decision on Franzke’s co-host and color commentator is still up in the air. Kevin Stocker is believed to be the leader for the role; he was a part of the rotation of co-hosts the last two seasons.
“My family and I are so appreciative of everything the Phillies have done for us for the 21 years we have been part of the organization. We are excited about this deal and the future of the Phillies. It’s a dream to be part of the fabric of this amazing city.” – Tom McCarthy
