WATCH: Fan almost falls from the upper deck after catching Kyle Schwarber’s home run ball vs Team Japan

Last night, Kyle Schwarber proved yet again that San Diego Padres and Team Japan pitcher Yu Darvish should call him daddy.
Schwarber took Darvish yard to put Team USA within one run last night but ultimately, America lost the championship to Japan 3-2. If you’re looking for someone to blame, then please turn your attention to ANYONE except the three Philadelphia Phillies players that represented the national team.
Here’s why…
The three Phillies players averaged .368 with seven home runs and a 1.259 OPS during the World Baseball Classic. The rest of Team USA averaged .259 with five home runs and a .819 OPS. Trea Turner alone hit five home runs during the Classic, the most EVER from a member of Team USA in a single World Baseball Classic.
Team USA Phillies Stats at the World Baseball Classic:
Turner: .391/.440/1.043 (1.483 OPS), 5 home runs, 9 hits, 11 RBI
Schwarber: .214/.450/.643 (1.093 OPS), 2 home runs, 3 hits, 4 RBI
J.T. Realmuto: .500/.533/.667 (1.200 OPS), 6 hits, 2 RBI
Anyways, we’re here to salute this brave fan who risked it all to catch the Schwarber home run ball last night.
Fan Almost Goes Overboard Catching Kyle Schwarber Home Run Ball
Jesus Christ. Give this guy a Medal of Honor. That’s exactly the type of American we want representing Team USA in the stands. I’d follow this man into the horrors of war any day of the week.
