Bryce Harper wasn’t interested in being interviewed last night by the ESPN Sunday Night Baseball broadcast

Bryce Harper was not interested in speaking with the ESPN Sunday Night baseball crew at all last night.
In the sixth inning on last night’s game, Harper had a headset on as the Phillies were down 2-1 to the Rangers and about to be handed their third straight loss, which ultimately would be a series sweep by Texas to start the 2023 season.
Earlier in the segment, the broadcast crew asked Harper about the pitch clock and he basically responded saying that a lot of MLB players “want their game back” but “it is what it is.”
Then later on in the segment, Karl Ravech asked Harper to clarify that statement.

Obviously, Harper thinks the pitch clock stinks and he clearly wasn’t happy with how the Phillies were playing in their opening series. However, the ESPN broadcast is horrible and the Sunday Night Baseball broadcast stinks.
I’m aware we are only three or four games into the season but every broadcast needs to come together and agree that they are not going to ask every single player what they think of the new rules in 2023.
No one cares. The pitch clock is here to say and right now, there are no plans to have it removed. Talk about something else. Every rule change will come with an opinion. That’s typically how things work. Get over it.

Regardless, the Phillies need to get their shit together. Starting the season on the road in Texas is tough and there are 159 games to go but there’s no way the defending National League Champions should start off by getting swept by the Rangers.
Things won’t get any easier. The Phillies are now heading to the Bronx for a series against the Yankees. We’ll be in attendance with Phans of Philly and 300+ Phillies fans sitting in left field.
Make sure you book all of your future Philly sports travel plans with Phans of Philly. They do an incredible job and make the entire experience easy and fun for everyone.
