Flyers 2022 7th-round pick starting to turn some heads in the QMJHL

Alexis Gendron was the 220th overall pick in the 7th round of the 2022 draft by the Flyers, and is starting to turn some heads with his constant goal-scoring. We all know most of the time these late QMJHL picks never sniff the NHL or even the AHL, but this kid might have a shot.
He’s currently tied with Connor Bedard for the most goals in the CHL playoffs with 8. Pretty cool to see.
Like Elliot Desnoyers, who was drafted 135th overall in 2020 by the Flyers (and played in the QMJHL), Gendron is a smaller player who had questions regarding his offensive game in terms of consistency. Both players followed up their D+1 years with offensive breakout years.
Gendron had 30G-16A-46P in 66 games in 21-22′. This year, he has 62 goals (including playoffs) with 26A in 67 games.
Now, I’m not sitting here saying he’s the next Kaprizov. He’s not even there in terms of being a very good two-way player like Desnoyers was (which has really helped Desy make it to where he is now), so there are still questions surrounding Gendron and his ability to somewhat translate to the pro level.
With all that being said, getting anything from a 7th-round pick is a cherry on top. You’re playing with house money now. He’ll play in the QMJHL for as long as he can and if he continues to play like this, why not toss him an ELC when the time is right?
