Kendrick Perkins will NOT vote for Joel Embiid to win the NBA MVP Award

Kendrick Perkins was back on television providing yet another reason as to why he shouldn’t have a vote to cast for the NBA MVP Award.
Kendrick Perkins will not vote for Joel Embiid to win MVP
Yes. Once the most enthusiastic and outspoken supporter of Joel Embiid has now turned his back on him with just three games left in the regular season because he missed a game against Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.
It’s honestly hilarious, but more importantly it’s downright embarrassing and completely discredits the voting process for the NBA’s most talked about regular season award.
It’s also a great reason as to why Kendrick Perkins should never be allowed to vote for the MVP again.
I know by writing about this and amplifying his name and what he says on television only helps views, engagement, and every other marketing and social media statistic that ESPN looks at to define “successful” but Kendrick Perkins is the absolute worst.
So really, you’re welcome ESPN and Mr. Perkins. I’ll go ahead and feed the machine just to bash him on The Liberty Line.
Whether that’s helping ESPN’s and Perkins’ cause or hurting it, is totally up to you to decide.
What ESPN and Kendrick Perkins fail to realize, is that when you are constantly just looking for the next “hot take” or always sharing an opinion that goes against rational thought and discourse, then people will eventually turn on you and ultimately despise you for it.
We have arrived at that point today.
Really, ESPN shouldn’t put Perkins in this type of position to look like a complete idiot, but they keep putting a camera in front of his face and surprise, surprise, he looks like a moron.
Maybe NBA MVP voting will change because of it, but I highly doubt it.
Just like I said in regards to Steph Curry, Damian Dillard, and Jimmy Butler all being on record that Joel Embiid should win the MVP, the players and really, assistant coaches in the NBA should be the ones voting for the end of season awards.
There needs to be an institutional change in who votes or else by next season, this award will mean absolutely nothing and there will be no one left that actually cares about it.
If we’re keeping count, you can almost certainly rule out the Boston natives from The Ringer and their five MVP votes. That was basically confirmed with Ryen Russillo lying on national television to discredit Joel Embiid’s 52-point masterclass against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
You can also rule out Tenecet, a Chinese media company that despises the Philadelphia 76ers thanks to Daryl Morey’s comments about the Hong Kong protests a few years ago.
To Note: They don’t even play Sixers games in China because of Morey.
Now, you’re basically down the following and there is still basketball left to be played this season.
- 5 Votes – The Ringer
- 4 Votes – Tenecet
- 1 Vote – Kendrick Perkins
Cool. That doesn’t even include all the people who simply do not like the Sixers and “The Process” and the fact that Joel Embiid at times, can be somewhat of an asshole (funny to me, asshole to them) on social media and in his press conferences.
They Hate The Process. Period.
If you’ve been paying attention, you probably know that already.
