Jean Segura will receive his National League Championship ring ahead of tonight’s matchup against the Marlins

Jean Segura returns to Citizens Bank Park tonight as a member of the Miami Marlins.
Segura, who played four seasons in Philadelphia, was a key component of the Phillies’ run to the World Series in 2022. The Phillies received their rings ahead of yesterday’s brutal 6-4 loss to the Reds, and Segura is reportedly set to receive his tonight from John Middleton.
Jean Segura to Recieve NL Championship Ring Ahead of Tonight’s Game
Segura came to Philly ahead of the 2019 season and turned into a leader in the Phillies clubhouse. He hit .281/.337/.418 in 427 games in Philly, logging 43 HRs, 176 RBIs, 459 hits, 78 doubles, and an OPS+ of 102. With the Phillies looking to move on last offseason, Segura tested free agency and received a 2-year, $17M contract from Miami.
Jean Segura had many memorable moments throughout last season’s postseason run, but the biggest hit of his career came in Game 1 of the NLWCS vs. the St. Louis Cardinals, slapping a single through the right side to take the lead, eventually pushing the Phillies to a win and a sweep.
If you haven’t already seen the Phillies’ rings, they’re absolutely insane. Over 600+ gemstones are on the ring, along with symbolic scores, sayings, and material from last year’s magical run to Game 6 of the World Series. Check them out here.
The Fightins will send Matt Strahm to the mound tonight, squaring off against Sandy Alcantara, who is coming off a complete game shutout.
