Update: I was wrong about the Baltimore Orioles and their team celebrations in the dugout

The Baltimore Orioles have been doing a new team celebration where after a player does something good on the diamond, they celebrate by taking a ‘beer bong’ of water in the dugout. Yesterday, I wrote about that celebration and how I thought it was pretty lame. Now, no more than 24 hours later, I’m here to admit that I was completely wrong.
Listen, anyone with an ounce of respect in their body knows that I deserve credit for admitting that I am wrong.
The fact that I’m now writing about it just proves that not everyone in 2023 is a complete psychopath and opinions can be changed, while people can openly talk about how they made a mistake.
It’s such a foreign concept these days but I want to normalize that moving forward.
We have to move past drawing lines in the sand (shoutout Nick Castellanos) and be able to admit when something is wrong without completely bashing each other and I’m more than happy to do so when it comes to the Baltimore Orioles and the way they celebrate things.
After yesterday’s “Water Bong” celebration where I ripped Ryan Mountcastle for taking a “beer bong” of water in the dugout as a celebration, I was met with some reply tweets. First, I was told that the fake news media lied to me and there are people in Baltimore that refer to a “beer bong” by that name instead of a “funnel” as I suggested in the article here.
The great people of Maryland deserve the truth and I intend to provide that.
What I learned after yesterday’s article. Shoutout Patrick and Koog for setting me straight.

I also learned that the water bong was referred to as the Dong Bong, which I think is the greatest name ever. Immediately, I knew I was wrong and that a correction article would be coming. Not like the fake news media does it either. There would be no reply tweet with a correction or an updated to the original post after the damage was done.
The Liberty Line eclipsed 50,000 views on April 11th and my opinion on the Orioles was front and center.
A new article needed to be written, which brings us to this morning.
Yes, I did what society normally does and based an entire article of a Twitter video of the celebration. I went against my moral compass, failing to realize that Mountcastle hit a 456 foot GRAND SLAM, after already hitting a 3-run home run just two innings earlier, which prompted the dugout water bong.
Ryan Mountcastle with a 456 FT Grand Slam
At this point, I realize I’m a complete asshole and that Mountcastle had 9 RBI on the night as the Orioles beat the living hell out of the Oakland Athletics.
Ryan Mountcastle also hit a 3-Run Homer then hit the Dong Bong
Then a new celebration made it’s debut last night.
The Baltimore Orioles then broke out “The Sprinkler” last night as I watched the Phillies get trounced by the Miami Marlins 8-3 at Citizens Bank Park. This is when I knew how wrong I was about the Baltimore Orioles and what they are doing just 2 hours away down 95.
“There go the sprinklers…”
Baltimore Orioles: The Sprinkler
Christ almighty that’s beyond cool.
In the American League East, the Tampa Bay Rays have jumped out to an early 11-0 record and lead the division. From there, you have the Yankees and Blue Jays both sitting at 7-4 with the Orioles slated in fourth at 6-5.
If there’s a team to root for in the American League, it’s the Baltimore Orioles.
