WATCH: Doc Rivers motivational speech set the tone for the Sixers’ second half run against the Brooklyn Nets to win Game 2

Doc Rivers was on a hot mic one minute into the third quarter last night that sparked the Sixers second half run to take a 2-0 series lead over the Brooklyn Nets.
Doc Rivers: Motivational Speaker
The Sixers took the court in the second half and attempted to run a pick-and-roll with James Harden and PJ Tucker but there was some confusion that resulted in just a quick pass to Embiid along the perimeter instead. That forced Embiid to drive to the basket and get up a quick shot, which was blocked.
Sixers Start to the 3rd Quarter
The play resulted in Rivers calling a timeout in attempt to get his team back-on-track.
Of course, there was plenty of funny tweets and posts about Doc Rivers being one of the greatest motivational speakers the world has ever seen but honestly, the funniest part about this video is the fact that it actually worked.
After Rivers called a timeout just a minute into the third, the Sixers got back to business and started playing like they did in Game 1 against the Nets.
The Sixers went on a 20-5 run in the third quarter and really started playing with some “dominant energy” while holding Brooklyn to just 14 points in the frame and turning a five point deficit at halftime into a five point advantage heading into the fourth quarter.
The Sixers outscored the Nets 52-33 in the second half and walked away with an easy Game 2 victory.
Next Up for the Sixers
Now, the series will head to Brooklyn on Thursday night for Game 3. I’ll be at Bankroll Philly with Sean Brace and company broadcasting live during the game. Stop by for a drink and let’s hang.
