Report: Jalen Hurts had surgery on his right ankle in February to remove ‘hardware’ that was inserted back in 2018

Jalen Hurts had surgery earlier this offseason to remove “hardware” that had been inserted in his ankle after he suffered a high-ankle sprain way back in 2018 during an Alabama game against Tennessee.
Here’s what ESPN’s Tim McManus had to say about Jalen Hurts latest surgery.
The procedure was to remove “hardware” that had been inserted in the ankle after Hurts suffered a high ankle sprain while playing for the University of Alabama in an October 2018 game against Tennessee, sources said. Hurts was sidelined for nearly a month before returning to play in November of that season.
Surgery to remove the hardware took place in February and was considered minor, according to sources, who added that Hurts returned to his offseason workout routine not long after the procedure.
Okay so really, it’s no big deal at all. Even with Hurts having a much more significant surgery last season on his left ankle, it looks like this was nothing more than a bit of Spring Cleaning for the Eagles’ newly extended quarterback.
Hurts was just getting rid of anything he no longer needed and is already back to business with his offseason workouts.
If Jalen was doing this to opposing defenses last year with a bunch of screws and pieces of metal in his ankle, just wait until the 2023 season.

Also, don’t get mad at us for causing a panic attack about Hurts getting surgery.
This is Adam Schefter’s fault and had us trying to figure out what the hell was happening yesterday when the story was first published by MacManus on ESPN.
You panic. We panicked. It’s only fair.
Plus, now we can all rejoice that it was nothing too serious in the first place. Anyways, yell at Schefty for the initial tweet about it. We’re just delivering the same information to the friendly readers of The Liberty Line.
The Eagles, as I’m sure you know by now, just inked Hurts to a monster five-year, $255M extension that included $179.3M in guarantees and the first no-trade clause in team history.
“Hurts gets a raise in 2023, including a $23.294 million signing bonus, and will make $64 million through the first new year in 2024. The Eagles now have him under contract for the next six years, on a deal that preserves their flexibility to keep the team intact around him.” — via NFL.com
