Nic Claxton and Nets head coach Jacque Vaughn believe that Joel Embiid should have been ejected from Game 3

A few minutes into last night’s Game 3 between the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, chaos erupted with Nic Claxton and Joel Embiid getting tangled up underneath the basket after a Claxton lob from Dinwiddie resulted in a foul on Embiid.
Joel Embiid and Nic Claxton
After the play, Embiid fell to the ground and Nic Claxton, who’s the definition of a “fake tough guy” attempted to flex while stepping over Embiid. Of course, Embiid did not like that and reacted by “kicking” Claxton, resulting in a Flagrant 1 for Embiid and a technical foul for Claxton.
Here’s what Nets’ head coach Jacque Vaughn had to say after the game.
“I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in my career before,” Vaughn told reporters. “For a guy to intentionally kick someone in an area that none of us want to be kicked at or towards and for him to continue to play. I’ve never seen that before. In a game and a guy continues to be able to play. Intentional.”
Jacque Vaughn also said this to his team before Game 3
“You got to hit somebody. If you want to win, you’ll hit somebody…step into the octagon and you’re not ready, you get knocked out.”
Jacque Vaughn is completely shameless and really, a horrible coach. We have witnessed him unravel following each loss to the Sixers during the playoffs. He wants to cry about Embiid but at the same time, basically directed his team to do exactly what happened last night.
Cool. That makes sense.
Either way, we are now three games into this series and the Sixers hold a 3-0 lead over the Nets.
After nothing else was worked over the first two games of the series, in a heap of desperation, Vaughn decided that the only way the Brooklyn Nets could win a game was to hurt Joel Embiid and get him tossed from the game.
Then you have half-brained Nic Claxton playing disgusting, dirty basketball throughout the game before he was ultimately ejected in the fourth quarter.
Claxton spoke with reporters after the game, echoing his coaches words in saying that Embiid should have been tossed from the game and that he was “really really hurt” after the play.
Here’s what Nic Claxton told reporters after the game.
“He’s the MVP,” Claxton told reporters. “I thought he should have been kicked out, but like I said, it’s not my job to referee. Maybe I should have sold it more instead of just clapping on the ground. Like I was really, really hurt, but just gotta move on.”
I feel like I’m going crazy.
The Nets can complain all they want about whatever they want but at the end of the day, they still haven’t won a game this series and will almost certainly get swept when Game 4 happens tomorrow night. This is a team that shouldn’t even be in the playoffs.
Unserious.
