Howie Roseman, you beautiful son of a bitch. On the third day of the NFL Draft, the Eagles GM traded for Lions running back D’Andre Swift, a Philadelphia native and, of course, a former Georgia Bulldog.

During his three-year career in Detroit, Swift has primarily been a change-of-pace back. He’s started 16 of a possible 40 games and has averaged about 332 offensive snaps per season. His highest usage rate came in 2021, where Swift logged 67 percent of his team’s offensive snaps.
Swift’s true value comes from his dual threat ability as a runner and pass catcher. He’s averaged 959 yards from scrimmage per year during his career, while averaging 52 receptions and 399 receiving yards per season.
Now that the Eagles have secured Swift, it’s hard to say this NFL Draft has been anything but a success for Roseman and Co. They’ve bolstered the defensive line substantially (a defensive line that accumulated over 70 sacks last season), added depth to their secondary, found a solid depth piece for their offensive line, and now, they’ve found their RB1.
I don’t know why the NFL keeps letting the Birds get away with this. It’s hilarious.
