WATCH: Gary Payton II played an entire possession with puke in his mouth during last night’s Game 4 between the Lakers and Warriors

Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr put Gary Payton II into the starting lineup ahead of last night’s Game 4 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
This post isn’t even about what Gary Payton II did in terms of playing basketball, but rather about him almost puking all over the basketball court only to hold it in his mouth while remaining in the game.
Gary Payton II pukes in his mouth, remains in the game
Honestly, I feel sick even watching that video.
Could you imagine? I feel like everyone has been in that situation before where you’re out at a bar and a shot just doesn’t go down the way you were expecting and now you have a mouthful of puke and go into full survival mode looking for the nearest exit or a quick dip under the bar to release the vile taste of puke from your mouth.
I’m not even a big “puke guy” while drinking but can admit that’s happened at least once or twice when I was in college down in Morgantown, West Virginia. That should be expected when you’re in a college town that hosted events like “Penny Pitcher Wednesdays” and “Drink Til You Drown Fridays” so I really have no problem admitting it.
Anyways, not only did Gary Payton II stop himself from puking all over the court, stayed in the game and continued to play defense until there was a change in possession.
Payton didn’t take a foul and the Warriors didn’t even burn a timeout. Incredible performance.
Payton also scored 15 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor but that and Steph Curry’s triple-double wasn’t enough to get the Warriors a win.
Lonnie Walker IV was the surprising hero last night for the Lakers. Walker, a Reading Pennsylvania native and University of Miami alum exploded in the fourth quarter for the Lakers, scoring 15 points to lead Los Angeles to a 104-101 win. He scored all his points in the fourth quarter, shooting 6-of-9 from the field and caught fire after drilling a 3-pointer on the opening possession of the final frame to cut the Warriors’ lead to four points.
Lonnie Walker played a TOTAL of 16 minutes in the first round of the playoffs against the Memphis Grizzlies. He didn’t even play in Game 1 of the second round. In Game 2, he scored nine points and followed that up with a 12 point performance in Game 3.
Last night, he hit the Lakers’ go-ahead jumper with under two minutes left on the clock and drilled two free throws with 15 seconds remaining to help secure the win for Los Angeles.
LeBron James scored 27 points and Anthony Davis scored 23 points with 15 rebounds as the Lakers outscored Golden State 27-17 in the fourth quarter.
The series will now head back to San Francisco tomorrow night with Golden State down 3-1 and on the brink of elimination.
