Sixers Betting: One sportsbook gives JJ Reddick the best odds to become Philly’s next head coach

With Glenn Rivers kicked to the curb following another second-round exit, the Sixers will enter their first head coaching search under GM Daryl Morey.
After the news broke of Doc’s firing, initial reports indicated Morey and Co. already have a wishlist for potential replacements. This list includes Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D’Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, and Monty Williams.

None of those names seem out of place. Most Sixers fans want one of those guys to be the next head man in South Philly. Bookies.com released their odds for Philly’s next head coach, and each of the names mentioned by Woj cracked the list.
Odds for next Sixers head coach, via Bookies.com:
- Nick Nurse +450
- Monty Williams +500
- Mike D’Antoni +550
- Mike Budenholzer +600
- Kevin Young +750
- Sam Cassell +850
- Tyronn Lue +1000
- Frank Vogel +1200
One name that absolutely nobody has on their Sixers HC wishlist is former Sixer JJ Reddick. Up until last week, nobody even thought he was looking for a head coaching job. Out of the blue, we heard reports that Reddick interviewed for the vacant Toronto Raptors job last week.
Now that the Sixers’ job is open, one sportsbook actually gave Reddick the best odds to land the gig.
Sportsbetting.ag (I know, I’ve never heard of them either) released their odds for the Sixers next head coach in the wake of Doc’s dismissal. For some inexplicable reason, Reddick sits atop the odds at +300, followed by Monty Williams (+400), Nick Nurse (+500), and Philly’s own Jay Wright (+600).
It’s hard to take this seriously, to be honest. I don’t need a crystal ball to confidently predict JJ Reddick will not be the Sixers next head coach. It would be a laughable move that would be mocked by pundits all offseason. They’ve already shit on us enough over the past decade or so, I’d rather not give them another reason to poke fun.
