Doc Rivers shares classy goodbye to the city of Philadelphia, team, and fans on Instagram

Following the Philadelphia 76ers firing Doc Rivers yesterday, the former head coach shared a classy statement on his Instagram profile.
Rivers posted a note to his Instagram praising the city of Philadelphia, the team, and its fans.
Doc Rivers Instagram Goodbye to Philadelphia
“I really enjoyed my time in Philadelphia — what a great city. I want to start by thanking my staff, the players, and the ownership group for their support. We got a lot done in a short amount of time. I’d also like to thank the 76ers fans. Whew … you guys are tough, and I think you’ve learned I’m tough too. I absolutely love your commitment to the city and its teams — never lose that. I wanted, just as badly as you, to bring another championship to Philadelphia. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to lead, to learn, and to love this great city,” Rivers said in his statement.”
Pretty classy from Doc Rivers here.
While he certainly was NOT the head coach to get the Sixers over their second round playoff nightmares, the more human side of things certainly confirms that Rivers was a pretty good guy, right?
Rivers has now coached four different NBA teams and all things considered, is looking for another gig.
We’ll see how that works out for him.
