According to reports, ex-Eagles running back LeSean McCoy could replace Shannon Sharpe as Skip Bayless’ cohost on FS1’s “Undisputed”.

The former NFL star turned co-host of FS1’s “SPEAK” is expected to have an extended audition with the irascible Bayless once Sharpe takes his contractual buyout from Fox Sports, two sources with knowledge of the situation told Front Office Sports.” via Front Office Sports

While I do have a soft spot in my dead, dark soul for LeSean McCoy, I do have a better idea for the future of “Undisputed” or really, any other “hot take” show on FS1 or ESPN. 

Just cancel it. 

Skip Bayless is 71-years old. Why does he want continue hosting a television show?

Just hang it up already, Skip! You’re too old!

There’s literally no reason for anyone to be working into your mid-70s. Plus, no one even likes working with Skip Bayless in the first place.

There are literally multiple reports stating that Bayless is nothing more than a micro-managing psychopath and that FS1 is finding it difficult to replace Shannon Sharpe. 

Nobody want to work with Skip Bayless

“Nothing happens on that show without Skip. They chose Skip over everything else. You can’t tweet about him, talk about him, anything – or they call you into the office,” said a source. “On ‘Undisputed,’ he makes all the calls, even when he’s off.”

In that vein, Bayless is expected to have the “final say” on Sharpe’s replacement, said the source. So the challenge is to find a new debate partner who can hold his own with the enfant terrible of sports TV. But not overshadow the egotistical Bayless. 

“Skip is not going to hire anybody who challenges him – and he’s going to make the hire. So it’s a crazy deal,” warned the source. “And here’s the kicker: you have to be willing to work with Skip, you’re going to have to put up with some shit, he has to approve of you. And you have to get up at 3:30 in the morning.”

Yeah that sounds absolutely miserable. Now I want to keep our guy Shady away from Skip Bayless at all costs. If McCoy was smart, he would literally just sit back and actively work against anyone taking the job with Bayless on Undisputed and force him into retirement where he rightfully belongs. 

That of course, is extremely unlikely to happen.

The Undisputed job will reportedly pay anyone crazy enough to meet Bayless’ demands well over seven figures. Skip himself signed a four-year $32 million extension with Fox in 2021 so it’s likely that he’ll at least be on television until the end of his current contract. 

FS1 could go completely crazy and hire Antonio Brown. He definitely seems interested and has already thrown his hat into the ring to replace Sharpe on Twitter. 

Maybe FS1 will reach out to Max Kellerman if Antonio Brown doesn’t grab their attention?

After ESPN decided to pay Pat McAfee to bring his show to the network, it looks like Kellerman’s show is the odd one out on ESPN. 

Who knows what will happen. If LeSean McCoy does land the job, then cheers to him. Hopefully he can survive the next few years until Skip finally announces his retirement when his current contract ends with Fox.

We’ll have an answer soon enough, but it won’t come without “final say” on Sharpe’s replacement from Skip Bayless.
