Ring It: Kyle Schwarber walks it off, Phillies win 6th straight game 5-4

The Philadelphia Phillies have officially reclaimed their nickname, “The Fightins” after the second consecutive walk-off victory happened last night at Citizens Bank Park.Â
Kyle Schwarber hit a walk-off home run deep to right field with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-4.
The Phillies have now won six straight games and sit just one game below the .500 mark on the season at 31-32.
Slight Issue: The Marlins and Braves keep winning too but we’ll get into that later.Â
Ranger Suarez was on the bump last night for the Fightins and pitched another beautiful start. Suarez pitched six innings, allowing four hits and one earned run. He walked just two batters and struck out eight.
The Dodgers did strike first on a J.D. Martinez double in the top of the first inning to take a 1-0 lead. The Phillies responded quickly in the bottom of the third inning. Kyle Schwarber got things moving with a triple to left field.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Nick Castellanos doubled to center field to score Edmundo Sosa. A wild pitch by Michael Grove scored Schwarber and Trea Turner ripped a line drive to left to score Castellanos.
Just like that, the Phillies took a 4-1 lead into the seventh inning.
Matt Strahm then gave everyone watching the game nightmares as he coughed up three runs in a matter of minutes in the top of the seventh inning.Â
I spend too much time on Twitter. I admit it. Matt Strahm still annoys me. Both can be true.
Mookie Betts hit a two-run home run to pull the Dodgers within one. Freddie Freeman then followed with a solo shot to centerfield and just like that the game was all tied up at 4-4.
Jose Alvarado worked himself in and then out of trouble in the eighth inning and in the bottom of the ninth, magic struck again at Citizens Bank Park as Kyle Schwarber stepped up to the plate with two outs.
Schwarber destroyed a baseball thrown by left-hander Caleb Ferguson, sending CBP into mayhem while handing the Phillies their sixth consecutive win.Â
Kyle Schwarber. RING IT.
It really is fascinating how a calendar month and change the entire mindset of not only Kyle Schwarber, but the entire Phillies baseball team.
Am I surprised? Not really. We watched the same thing happen last season and as I always say in every article I write about the Phillies on TLL, the official start of the MLB season is June 1st.
Schwarber is now batting .267 (8-for-30) with a double, triple, four home runs, and eight RBIs over eight games in the month of June with a 1.172 OPS.
The Phillies are now 6-2 in the month of June and have won six straight since dropping two straight against the Mets and Nationals.Â
Aaron Nola back on the bump today at 4:05PM for the Phillies. Just Ring It.
