Jackson, 50, last worked as the head coach of the NBA G League Stockton Kings (a league-best 25-7 record last season) and also held developmental roles within the Kings organization.
Jackson, the 2002-03 Sixth Man of the Year, also played 12 seasons in the NBA with the Denver Nuggets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Kings, Memphis Grizzlies, New Orleans Hornets, and Houston Rockets, averaging 9.7 points and 2.6 assists per game in his career.
Lauded for his work with younger talent, the addition of Jackson should help replace Sam Cassell, who recently joined Joe Muzzulla’s staff in Boston.
