Apple finally will remove ‘Ducking Hell’ from autocorrect database

Finally, a change worth celebrating. Earlier this week, Apple announced that “Ducking Hell” will be removed from autocorrect.
‘Ducking hell’ to disappear from Apple autocorrect
Apple has said it will no longer automatically change one of the most common swear words to ‘ducking’.
The autocorrect feature, which has long frustrated users, will soon be able to use AI to detect when you really mean to use that expletive.
“In those moments where you just want to type a ducking word, well, the keyboard will learn it, too,” said software boss Craig Federighi. – via BBC

While the majority of iPhone users will certainly celebrate this update, I would appreciate some clarification from software boss himself Craig Federighi.
What exactly do you mean by AI being used to detect when someone really means to use an expletive?
The autocorrect thing never really bothered me. If I’m on my phone, I’m just texting my friends anyways and I definitely don’t have to look like a scholar with my words in the group texts.
Same goes with editing texts. I really don’t see the need of that functionality.
Any work-related stuff I do, I just use a MacBook, so the need to autocorrect anything, let alone by an AI robot, seems pretty useless. I would rather say “ducking” instead of having a robot read through all my text messages but maybe that’s just me.
Note: I don’t like the were and we’re autocorrect. That should have been the first issue addressed. Go on any dating app and you’ll find an attractive female that (stupidly) says “I want to find someone that knows the difference between we’re, were, where or there, their, they’re.” Trying to find love out here, Apple. Those seems way more important than ducking.
At the end of the day, it’s a personal “non-issue” for me regardless. Just read anything I write on The Liberty Line. Do you think I take time to proof read?
I definitely do not.
Just whip open the note pad on my MacBook, write as many words as possible, and hit publish. The internet has given everyone that margin of error where no one really cares about spelling.
Not to mention, when you do spell something wrong, it typically drives more engagement across social media. You just need have thick enough skin to not give a shit.
Anyways, no more “ducking hell” for iPhone users.
Cheers.
