Eagles’ Haason Reddick looks to reach new heights as a pass rusher in 2023

The Eagles had the best pass rushing unit in the entire NFL last season, falling just two sacks short of the single-season record of 72 set by the 1984 Chicago Bears. Despite racking up a team-high 16.5 sacks himself, Haason Reddick still believes he can tap into another level this upcoming season.
With the Eagles officially in their summer break period between OTAs and training camp, Reddick caught up with the Philadelphia Inquirer’s Josh Tolentino to talk ball ahead of the 2023 season.
“As crazy as it sounds, I feel as if there’s still more levels for me to tap into,” Reddick told the Inquirer. “I’m extremely excited and looking to build on another great year. I want to continue to progress on what I did and what the team did last year.”

Reddick’s 16 sacks in 2022 was tied for second-most in the league with Cleveland’s Myles Garrett and trailed only Nick Bosa, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year. It was the third consecutive season in which Reddick tallied double-digit sacks.
Duplicating that same level of production won’t be easy for Reddick, now that the Eagles have two new pass rushers in the mix: Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith. Nevertheless, Reddick fully understands the task at hand.
“We know our ultimate goals, but it starts with us striving for constant success.”
Aside from DT Javon Hargrave, the Eagles will enter this season with the majority of their 2022 defensive front still intact. Both Josh Sweat and Brandon Graham – who both posted double-digit sacks efforts last year – are back, along with Fletcher Cox, Jordan Davis, Milton Williams, and Derek Barnett.
